Best Scuba Diving in the Riviera Maya Mexico!

If you're like me, traveling the world by land is only a fraction of the amazement that our world has to show! Seeing amazing dive locations around the world and seeing the deep blue and all it's wonders, has been a large goal in many of our adventures.

And if you are a seasoned scuba diver, you know that this can be an expensive hobby. So Ive traveled around the Riviera Maya to find my favourite dive sites, the cheapest prices, AND the best person to dive with!

Right between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen Mexico, is a cute little town called Puerto Morelos, Mexico. Its a small fishing/hippie village, right on the water. Its a great location for foodies, as the streets are lined with far more restaurants than souvenir shops!

And right on the beach is a small booth where the town famous, Noe Guzman, sets up shop! He is a small business that cares more about the joys of diving and the happiness of the people, than making a big buck (so tip him well!). His prices are below any other shops in the area from Cancun, all the way down to Mahahual, and he will not only take you to the "tourist" dive sites in the open ocean, but also has connections to take you to private cenotes and other amazing locations in Mexico! What I loved about Noe Guzman, is that he is willing to really show you the beauty of the waters in the area and will take you anywhere...all the way down to Belize, if you want to! He isnt tied to showing just the tourist trap dive locations, but rather, cares about showing you the REAL amazing spots to scuba dive in Mexico.

The name is his business is Sun and Sea Mexico, you can click the link to find his facebook page!

During my dives with Sun and Sea Mexico, I saw some of the most beautiful reefs filled with nurse sharks, sea turtles, barracuda, puffer fish, and a vast array of man other reef fish!

On several dives, he got some of the invasive lion fish, and later made us all an amazing fresh lion fish ceviche!

And as beautiful as the oceans are, he opened my eyes to the beauty of diving in cenotes. I have dove in cenotes like Dos Ojos, before. but it was crowded and definitely a tourist trap kind of place.

The cenotes that Noe took us too, were out of the way, beautiful quite locations. One place, Maravilla, is a private cenote that he has to have a key to even get into! It was a life changing experience to say the least!

Here are a few pictures from scuba diving in the cenote Maravilla, in Puerto Morelos Mexico.

Cenote, Maravilla is an amazing dive experience, with a dreamy sulfur cloud about 100 ft or 30 meters down! There is little life within the cenote, but the view and the light show is out of this world. It also plays with your mind to know that this cenote was used by the ancient Mayans, many many years ago!

Gives a very sacred feel to this experience!

Another cenote he likes to take us to, is Hell's Bell's, also known as Zapote Cenote! This was another amazing cenote with an ancient fallen Zapote tree near the bottom, looming up out of the sulfur layer 90 feet down! It looks like something out of the "Upside Down" from "Stranger Things" the TV show! A creepy yet beautiful experience I will never forget!

Noe, even though young, has over 6000 dives under his belt! He always was very positive, fun, and safe. I felt so completely safe with him, at all times...which is important when scuba diving in new locations!

But the thing that REALLY made Noe Guzman from Sun and Sea Mexico, a special experience, was that he became a friend and I was never once looked at just a numbered client!

On down days, he took us out swimming and even helped teach my son, who was 5, to equalize as they swam about 20 feet down on some reefs in Cozumel! My son adored him and he made our entire trip, worth every second!

My experience scuba diving with Sun and Sea Mexico, in Puerto Morelos, Riviera Maya, Mexico, was the best, cheapest, and most impacting experience I could ask for!

Book your next scuba diving excursion in the Riviera Maya, Mexico with Sun and Sea Mexico and tell Noe that Sarah and Ayden sent you!
